Description

The design of this cross was chiseled out of flint, most likely by the ancient Piro Indians who lived in scattered Pueblos along the Rio Grande in central New Mexico, They were discovered and converted to Christianity by the Spaniards during the 15th century. The original cross was found near the ruins of one of the Pueblos and was used to make the mold for this sterling silver casting.
